Artist's Description
Joshua Tree National Park is a vast protected area in southern California characterized by rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes. The park straddles the Colorado and Mojave deserts and is named for the region’s twisted, bristled Joshua trees. Hiking trails abound among the many rock formations.Within the park there are six distinct mountain ranges: the Little San Bernardino Mountains in the southwestern part; the Cottonwood, Hexie, and Pinto Mountains in the center; and the Eagle and Coxcomb Mountains in the eastern part.
